| The Sher™ Deluxe
Nylon E-Z Post™ Orthotic Arch Support kit is a truly unique
over the counter arch support. The Sher™ Deluxe Nylon E-Z Post™
Orthotic Arch Support kit includes one pair of either ¾ length
or full length plastic arch supports as well as three pair of posted
heel wedges (each with a different level of tilt) that snap into the
bottom of the heel of the plastic arch support shell. The posted heel
wedge helps to support the foot by decreasing pronation beyond what
the arch support alone can do. |

What
is a Posted Heel?

The
word “Post” refers to angling the rear part of an
arch support under the heel so that the arch support tilts either
inward or outward (commonly referred to as Varus or Valgus tilt).
Simply put this can help to increase or decrease the level of
support that a single arch support can provide. A more technical
definition of what posting does is that a varus or valgus post
on an arch support alters joint loading and can actually decrease
the loading on the different components of the ankle, knee and
hip joint. That being said a posted heel is a feature most commonly
found in and associated with custom orthotics and are tailored
to the specific needs of the individual patient.
Some over the counter arch supports have an intrinsic post built
into them but they are not adjustable so they can not be increased
or decreased. The Sher™ Deluxe Nylon E-Z Post™ offers
something that no other over the counter arch support does,
the ability to choose and adjust the degrees of posting and
the ability to change the amount of posting over time as the
body’s needs change. |

| The arch support
shell of the Sher™ Deluxe Nylon E-Z Post™ arch support
is semi rigid and is made from Polypropylene plastic. Its arch height
when combined with the rigidity of the plastic is medium but with
the 2 or 4 degree post the Sher™ Deluxe Nylon E-Z Post™
can work well for people with medium high to high (non weight bearing)
arch heights. |

Three
Sets of Heel Plugs
|
| The three pair of heel
wedges included with the Sher™ Deluxe Nylon E-Z Post™
arch supports are designed to add differing levels of medial (or lateral)
posting to the arch support. The grey pair is neutral and adds no
posting but it does square off the bottom of the heel so the arch
support will sit more solidly in your shoes than a rounded bottom
arch support. This keeps the arch support from rolling to either the
medial or lateral side at any point during your stride. The blue pair
has a 2 degree tilt (post) and the red pair has a 4 degree tilt (post).
They also have a squared off bottom for superior stability. |

| The heel post pieces of
the Sher™ Deluxe Nylon E-Z Post™ snap in and out from
the bottom of the arch supports. Attention must be paid to make sure
that the posts are not inadvertently put in reverse position (left
to right and right to left) since that will create the opposite of
the desired effect. If the posting is intended to be medial posting
(the most common posting) make sure that the high sides of either
the red or blue posting plugs are facing inward (facing each other
on the big toe side) and if the posting is intended to be lateral
posting (extremely uncommon but needed sometimes) make sure that the
high sides of either the red or blue posting plugs are facing outward
(facing away from each other on the pinky toe side) |

The
Cushion Cover
|
| The top cushion cover
of the Sher™ Deluxe Nylon E-Z Post™ is 1/8th thick and
is comprised of two different foams (glued together). The top layer
(grey) of the cushion cover is Poron foam which is a high quality
open celled foam that maintains its compression and rebound capacity
much better than most other open celled foams and (since it is open
celled) it is breathable. The bottom blue layer is Procell foam. Procell
is a polyurethane based foam which is also an open celled foam and
is also quite durable. These two layers of foam are toped of with
a blue nylon weave top cover. The nylon top cover helps to reduce
friction and keep feet cool and blister free. |
