| Sole Custom Footbed’s
Thin Sport Model replaces Sole’s Slim Sport as their new and
even thinner arch support insole (a full 10% thinner than the Sole
Slim Sport Footbed). The Sole Footbed Thin Sport model is a great insole
for people who need extra support but don’t like the feel of
hard plastic in their arch supports. The Sole Footbed Thin Sport arch
support is different from the Sole Ultra and the Sole Regular Footbed
in that it is thinner and takes up considerably less room in a shoe
than any of Sole’s other models. This is an idea insole for
people with wide feet, but it is also ideal for wearing in shoes such
as cleats or casual shoes that have either a very thin removable insole
or no removable insoles at all. |
|
| Sole Footbed Thin Sport
arch support insoles are made with a similar construction to that
of the Sole Ultra and the Sole Regular arch support insoles. The main
body of the Sole Footbed Slim Sport is constructed from the same firm
and highly contoured EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) foam that provides
gentle but resilient support to the heel and arch. What the Sole Footbed
Thin Sport arch supports lack (which makes it thinner than the other
Sole models) is the Poron cushioning layer that the Sole Ultra and
Sole Regular have. |
| These
arch supports are designed for people ofall arch types. |

The
fact is that the Sole Footbed Thin Sport arch support insole
doesn’t have as much cushioning as the Sole Ultra and
the Sole Regular arch support insoles, but it is not meant to.
If cushioning combined with a non plastic arch support is what
you are after and if your shoe has a substantial removable insole
or room for a thicker insole, check out the Sole
Ultra or Sole Regular
arch support insole as they will provide more cushioning than
the Sole Thin Sport. If you have tried the Sole Ultra or the
Sole Regular and liked them, but are looking for an arch support
insole with a lower profile, for tighter fitting shoes, then
the Sole Thin Sport model is definitely something worth trying. |

Footbed Thin Sport Construction |
| The main layer (red) is
a high density EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) foam that is highly contoured
in the arch and heel and gives the footbed its integrity and support.
Although lower density EVA (such as the kind use to make standard
athletic shoe insoles) is weak and flimsy, higher density EVA (like
the kind used in this footbed) is actually very firm, supportive and
durable. Further more, EVA (unlike plastic) isn’t hard or jarring
to the feet so it is very comfortable for a wide range of athletic
and outdoor activities. Since the Sole Footbed Thin Sport does not
use any plastic to support the arch you will not feel a drop off point
where the plastic arch support ends (at the ball of the foot) and
the forefoot insole continues (to the toes). All Sole Footbeds have
a unique continuous feel that most other insoles lack. |
| The top cover (grey) of
the Sole Footbed Thin Sport arch supportis a perforated polyester
weave (PPW) that helps reduce friction and wick moisture away from
the foot. |
Sole Custom Footbed
Heat Molding |
All Sole Custom Insoles
can be heat molded in your oven. Each pair comes with specific instructions
but basically you heat them in your oven, put them in your shoes and
then put your shoes on. Your feet will press the footbed into its
new shape and as footbed cools it will solidify into that shape. Please
be aware that heating and customizing the insoles will not make them
any higher but will only make them lower. You should only try to heat
mold the Sole Custom Footbeds if they do not feel comfortable because
you feel that some or all of the arch is a little to high for your
foot. You should try the footbeds in your shoes first, before doing
anything to them. Many people will find that Sole Custom Footbeds
feel great right out of the box and don’t need any heat molding
at all.
