| Spenco Gel
insoles are made from a tri density Thermo Polyurethane Rubber (TPR)
Gel and are covered with a low friction synthetic top cover. These
insoles provide superior gel cushioning from heel to toe while reducing
friction which can cause blisters, corns and calluses on the bottom
of the feet and toes. |

Spenco
Gel Insoles have the typical gooey TPR gel insole feeling that
one would expect from a gel insole but the Spenco Gel Insole
adds three additional features that increase the gel insole’s
shock absorption, support and comfort level. These Spenco Gel
Insoles incorporate a hexagon cushion structure that increases
the cushioning and shock absorption at the critical weight bearing
points of the feet, the heel and the ball of the foot. Spenco
Gel Insoles also have an additional cushioning feature in the
heel. The orange hexagon cushion pad is actually made from a
lower density (softer) TPR gel than the rest of the insole so
it provides even more cushioning for high impact heel strikes.
Finally, the gray arch piece is made from a higher density (harder)
TPR gel that provides mild anatomical contouring for comfort
and support to the medial and lateral arch. |

About the Hexagon Cushioning Design of the Spenco Gel Insole |
| A Typical TPR solid
Gel insole has only a limited amount of compression due to the
density of the gel. This means that upon a hard impact its shock
absorbing capacity is equally limited. By comparison, foam based
cushioning materials (such as those used to make the Spenco
Polysorb Crosstrainer) offer considerably more shock absorption
because the bubble cells in the foam rubber compress and recoil
to a greater degree than a solid layer of TPR gel can. |
| The hexagon design
in the new Spenco Gel Insole changes this cushioning aspect
and significantly improves the shock absorption capabilities
of the new Spenco Gel insoles. The hexagon design creates structurally
supported air pockets in the gel that allows it to compress
and recoil in a way that is similar to the bubble cells in foam
based cushion insoles. This design allows it to absorb more
shock and provide more cushioning than solid TPR gel insoles. |
