Blue arch supports are one of Birkenstock's most comfortable arch
supports and one of their most popular arch support products. The
reason for the Birkenstock Blue popularity is its soft yet supportive
construction as well as its ability to fit into a wide range of shoes
including athletic, casual and even some dress shoes.
Birkenstock Blue
arch supports are constructed from Birkocork™, Birkenstock's
unique and durable blend of natural cork and rubber. The Birkocork
is molded into a highly contoured arch support shell and covered,
on the top with hypo-allergenic, 100% silk and on the bottom with
brown Moleskin. The silk provides a soft comfortable cover that reduces
friction against the foot. The Moleskin covering on the bottom adds
to the durability of the arch support by protecting the Birkocork™
from wear and erosion. |

Birkenstock Blue
arch supports are highly contoured and support the complete foot,
including the medial, lateral and metatarsal arch. The deep heel cup
increases the support level of the arch support by stabilizing the
heel and reducing excess side to side heel motion Overall however,
the Birkenstock Blue arch support's contours are not so high as to
be intrusive or uncomfortable. They should not take too much "breaking
in" and are ideal for people with low to medium height arches
who want a lot of support from a non-plastic arch support.

Do
Birkenstock Blue Arch Supports
Feel Like The Classic Birkenstock Sandal?
While the contours of the Birkenstock visually match those of
the sandal very closely and they basically hit the foot in all
the same spots the fact that the arch support is designed to
be softer and more flexible means that the arch does not feel
quite as dramatic or as hard as the arch in the classic sandal.
In fact the Birkenstock Blue arch supports actually have a slightly
springy feel to them that the sandals lack. |

The Casual
Style
&
The Heeled
Style

The
Blue Casual Footbeds are
designed for flat shoes, where the shoe's heel and forefoot
are the same height. This includes most men's and women's court
shoes such as basketball shoes and cross trainers, many men's
dress shoes, some men's casual shoes and some women's dress
and casual shoes.
The Blue Heeled Footbeds
are designed for shoes with a heel that is up
to 1 inch higher then the Forefoot. This includes most
men’s and women’s running shoes, many men’s
and women’s casual shoes, most boots including hiking
boots, work boots, casual boots and dress boots.
We at Feet Relief have found that the two Birkenstock Blue models
are really quite similar. The most noticeable (and really the
only) difference is that the Heeled Style has a slightly more
pronounced arch then the Casual Style. They both still qualify
as having a Medium to Low arch but the Heeled Style’s
arch is slightly higher then the Casual Style.
