Arch Cushions
Spenco arch cushions are a cushion insole with an added, built-up area of cushion under the arch. Not exactly an arch support but more than a cushion insole. These Spenco arch cushions are ideal for people who have found that plastic arch supports, even mild ones like the Spenco Orthotic Arch Support feel too high or too hard to be used comfortably.
Many people with flat feet don’t have any problems with their feet until they get older. Many common foot problems such as metatarsalgia, bunions and hammertoes result after years of uncontrolled over-pronation. Treating these problems often requires some kind of arch support. Unfortunately, many elderly flat feet don’t respond well to hard plastic arch supports. After years of uncontrolled over-pronation the foot loses its natural arch and takes on a more permanently flattened shape. When this happens the bones of the foot lose their ability to be dramatically repositioned the way they would be a hard plastic arch support. Plastic arch supports feel uncomfortable because they no longer fit the flattened shape that the foot.
