The SPENCO Thinsole orthotic is a ¾ length fiberglass composite arch support that is covered with Spenco's classic green neoprene cushion cover (1/16th inch thick). SPENCO Thinsole Orthotic arch supports are designed to support the medial and lateral arch. The Main difference between these arch supports and the SPENCO Orthotic Arch Supports (Click Here) is that the fiberglass composite arch support is stronger, lighter and thinner then the Nylon arch support used in the SPENCO Orthotic Arch Supports. This means that Thinsole™ Orthotic arch supports give a little more support, last a little longer and fit into a wider array of shoes (including many dress and casual shoes) then the SPENCO Orthotic Arch Supports.
At this point you may be asking your self, "Which of these two SPENCO arch support's is better for me?" The answer is that they are both equally good. If you only plan on wearing your arch supports in athletic shoes and hiking boots then either arch support will work but if you plan on wearing them in dress and casual shoes as well, then this SPENCO Thinsole orthotic arch support would be a better choice.

For people that are having trouble adjusting to either a new pair of custom made orthotics or a new pair of serious over-the-counter arch supports such as the Poly-Flex Orthotic arch supports, the SPENCO ThinSole Orthotic arch support is an ideal 'Break-In" arch support. A "Break-In" arch support is an arch support of moderate to low height and rigidity that is used to help people adjust to the sensation of wearing an arch support. A break-in arch support still supports the arch and controls over-pronation but just not as much as the primary arch support; consequently, it feels more comfortable then the primary arch support and allows the foot to slowly adjust to its new corrected position.
